Cabin Fever

It’s raining today. Sometimes I get cabin fever when it rains.

Usually when cabin fever hits I devise a plan to make mom pay attention to me.

Most of the time I start off with the obvious stuff to get attention, barking, pulling out all my toys, making a mess – those usually have some effect.

But, sometimes it’s necessary to pull out the big guns. Like cute faces.

Or the “please fix my ear” routine. But when all else fails I always have one trick up my sleeve that will always work to get the attention I deserve….

No one can resist the Please rub my belly routine.

The Hamster Returns

You might remember the toy Hamster I got last Christmas from my Dad…..well he must have known that it’s the Holiday season again, because he’s returned!

I’m not sure where he was hiding all this time, but when mom was moving some stuff around at home I found him! And boy did we have some fun playing together this weekend! Just see for yourself…

P.S. Over the weekend mom helped me make some updates to my website! Yipeee! Check out the new About, Gallery, and Press Pages!

Friday Fetch: Supper Time!

With Thanksgiving in the US just around the corner it got me thinking about eating (of course). So I dished up some of my favorite finds to make chowing down oh-so-fun! Gobble Gobble.

Superhero Playdate

Oh hey, did you come to play super heroes with me today?

ammo the dachshund superhero

What do you mean you don’t have a super cape?

ammo the dachshund superhero

Well, I guess we can share mine.

ammo the dachshund superhero

Even if it was especially made just for me.

ammo the dachshund superhero

But next time you better bring your own.

ammo the dachshund superhero

Because we need TWO super heroes to save the princess….

…and we both need to be able to fly.

The Holidays are Coming

Yes, I know, we haven’t even had Turkey Day yet and already there are Christmas wreaths out, holiday music playing and the smell of pine everywhere.

Ammo the Dachshund at work

Even though it does seem a tad bit early for the Holiday Season Fanfare, when you work in a retail shop like I do it’s hard not to be prepared a few weeks early.

Ammo the Dachshund at work

So this year I bit the bullet and broke out my Christmas scarf BEFORE Thanksgiving. Don’t judge, you know you think it’s stinkin’ cute.

Ammo the Dachshund at work

I even went as far as to practice some of my Holiday looks. I think they pretty much speak for themselves…..

ammo the dachshund at work

“Thanks for visiting, now please purchase every single item in my shop as a Christmas gift for your loved ones”

ammo the dachshund at work

“Pretty Please, won’t you purchase that _______.”

ammo the dachshund at work

“I’m even cuter when you purchase something”

ammo the dachshund at work

“Don’t make me get ruthless and force you to do some Holiday Shopping”

ammo the dachshund at work

“P.S. I’m fully prepared to give you the stink eye should you decide to leave empty handed”

ammo the dachshund at work

Shameless I know, but a shop dogs gotta do what a shop dogs gotta do! hehe.

Make sure you check out My Shop this Holiday Season for some super awesome amazing spectacular gift ideas for everyone you know. I promise not to sing Christmas Carols in your ear. 🙂

Pony Jumper

Just because it’s called a “horse jump” doesn’t mean it’s any match for Super Ammo. (and I didn’t even have my super cape on!)

It’s ok to be jealous of my super jumping skills.

Helper Boy

Weekend projects around my house tend to always involve a do-it-yourself mentality.

And on this particular weekend, mom’s d.i.y. project to update the office took over my sunroom.

ammo the dachshund paint helper

Even though my sunning space was suddenly way more crowded, I was thrilled when mom said I could help, because as you know I’m really really good at helping.

However, when the paint roller proved to be too difficult for my cumbersome paws I decided to improvise….

….sadly mom didn’t think it was such a good idea and I was promptly relinquished from my duties as helper boy.

sigh.

Friday Fetch: Hund Collection at Neue Galerie

HF Loden CoatsIt’s always great when canines and art can combine, I should know, I’m an artist. So that’s why I was super excited when I received the new Neue Galerie New York catalog in the mail.

Neue Galerie is a museum devoted to early twentieth-century German and Austrian art and design. The gallery shop is devoted to providing the finest design icons from three periods: Biedermeier, Vienna 1900, and the Bauhaus. Contemporary designers such as Han Feng, Michael Graves, and Eva Zeisel also create exclusive pieces for the museum shop.

Among these contemporary pieces is Hund, which is a collection of chic canine couture and luxe accessories inspired by a mini Schnauzer named Milly von Barksky.

In other words, drool.

The Hund collection might be a bit out of my price range, but a dog can dream right? You can check out the Hund Collection at Neue Gaerie.

Home Sweet Home

Home. Work. Farm. That pretty much describes a good majority of my life. So I thought it would be fun to give you all a little “peek behind the curtain” and show you exactly where I spend my days & nights.

This is home – my quiet little street in the ‘burbs where I have my own doggie door, keep all my favorite toys, and get to take naps on the couch.

studio 3

This is work, right smack dab in the center of town.

studio 3

It’s where I spend my Tuesday through Saturday greeting customers.

studio 3

I take my work very seriously and although sometimes you’ll catch me napping on the job, it’s usually just a ruse to get you to rub my belly. (I’m sneaky like that)

iron horse farm

This is the farm – my home away from home. It’s where I help train the trick ponies, do my chores, and play tag with Trooper and the kitties.

And if I’m truly showing you where I REALLY spend most of my time, there is one last photo I must divulge.

These are my groundhog holes. And I’m only showing you this because I KNOW you can keep a secret.

After all, there’s only one Super Dachshund fit to guard these holes, and it’s me!

Leaf Break

Things are a little quieter around here now that fall has arrived. The shop slows down a little bit before the Holiday rush, the ponies start growing their winter coats and I don’t have quite as many things booked on my calendar.

ammo the dachshund in the leaves

So it’s nice to take this little fall break and play in the leaves.

ammo the dachshund in the leaves

Did you know that you can find buried treasure in fall leaves?

ammo the dachshund in the leaves

It’s true, I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

ammo the dachshund in the leaves

All you gotta do is wiggle your little nose and let it lead you too it.

ammo the dachshund in the leaves

And if you can’t find the treasure, than I hate to tell you, but those darned squirrels probably took it. Sorry pal, I guess you’re out of luck this year.
