Many many months ago, my mom and dad started building something intriguing.
It took quite a while to take shape, and at first I wasn’t quite sure what it was going to be for.
But the farther along my mom and dad got on their project, the more I began to worry…because I knew where it was going to end up.
Yup, that’s right it ended up right in the window of my shop.
Now you may be thinking, what’s the big deal? Well the big deal is that my shop already has something in the window that grabs the attention of potential customers.
And that something is me! So as nice as the new shop sign is, I just really hope I won’t be out of a job anytime soon!
Ever since I was 8 weeks old my buddy Trooper has been the dog I looked up to. He came to the shop with me everyday, where he was in charge of “training” me for the first year or so of my life. I like to think that I got my sassiness from Trooper himself, and I’m pretty sure these videos of a young puppy Trooper (before I knew him) hanging out at the shop totally prove my point!
P.S. Isn’t it amazing how much lighter Trooper’s coat was when he was a puppy? Now everyone just thinks he’s really old with his mostly black coat with bits of gray. (he’s only 7)

I took my new Park It Mat on a shopping trip to the hardware store!
I got kicked out of the clean plate club when mom and dad’s new dishwasher arrived.
I took my new gal pal, rescue pup Maya, to the lake for her first paddleboarding lesson.
I got to help mom frame my very own birth certificate!
Trooper and I got our zoomies on in the basement of the new farmhouse.
I shared some cookies with my good buddies.
I shared a throwback to my very first introduction to hunting underground.
I showed off my awesome chewing faces.
I watched a movie in the park.
I announced my next big appearance.
I spent an awesome day at the beach.
I made friends with my new napping partner.
I took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and even donated too.
I shared how my mom helps me and Trooper overcome shop dog boredom.
I offered moral support when my ponies got a visit from the dentist.
Wow, I’m always amazed looking back at how much I can pack in to 30 days! What sort of adventures have you been on in August?
Yesterday my buddy Trooper came to hang out with me at the shop. We have a lot of fun together, and he’s always been my very favorite cuddle buddy.
As fun as it is to have a pal at work, sometimes being a shop dog can get downright boring!
But don’t worry, I have the absolute best method for curing shop dog boredom….
Treat dispensing toys! Woohoo!
Now seriously, what’s more fun than a toy that pops out cookies when you play with it? Nothing, the answer is nothing!
What do you do to cure your dog’s boredom?
When I was just a wee pup my best friend Trooper used to come to the shop with me everyday to “babysit” me. More often than not the day was spent napping or wrestling with my best friend. We quickly learned that while at work we had to “silent wrestle” aside from the occasional “uncle” shouts – most often coming from Trooper!

Most of you already know that I’m a regular working dog at my mom’s custom frame shop in our home town. So I thought it would be fun to share some photos of me “working like a dog” at the shop. Because we all know I work the hardest out of anyone!
See I told you I work really hard!
My average week consists of a 5 day work week – in which I greet customers most of the day at my mom’s custom frame shop. But with mom gone all last week I found myself actually missing work!
So Dad offered me up the chance to go to work with him – and try my paw at being a graphic designer just like my dad!
I arrived at work early, and was excited to see if they had set me up with a window office.
Unfortunately they must not have known how important I am, because my “office” was a spot on the floor – hardly conducive to working on graphic design! Humph!
I took a tour around the office, and then it was time to get down to business.
I helped dad with some of his work, but quickly grew bored of staring at a computer screen. Somehow the job sounded much more glamorous than I thought – or at least I was hoping we would be designing something I was interested in – like dog food ads!
So I took the rest of the afternoon off and parked myself by the front door – waiting for customers to come just like I do at mom’s shop.
Unfortunately dad’s office does not have the same sort of traffic flow as mom’s retail business – so my “happy to meet you tail wag” didn’t get much use.
That’s ok though, because I used all the free time I had to “clean” the kitchen before lunch for all of the hard-working employees. I’m pretty sure it was much appreciated!
I had fun with dad at work, but I think I’d much rather greet customer’s at mom’s shop all day – sorry dad! But it’s good to be needed, no matter where I work!
This past Friday was Take Your Dog to Work Day, but for me it was no different than any other day, because I work most days with my mom in her custom frame shop.
But, I decided to play the part anyway and instead of my usual sunbathing by the front door I threw on my glasses and helped mom with the picture framing.
Choosing picture frames is no easy task, but it’s a good thing I have a great eye for design!
I picked out some colorful mouldings that would look super awesome on one of my Dream Big Prints.
I must admit, I worked pretty darn hard and I’m pretty sure I should get a raise. Please add 4 more cookies to my daily wages mom!
