It wouldn’t be a shocker if I told you that my mom and dad have amassed thousands and thousands of pictures and video of me over the years. Sometimes those pictures and videos make it onto my blog, and sometimes they just sit on the computer – tiny little tidbits of my everyday life to look back on and smile.
I thought it would be fun to share some of those unseen tidbits. A little glimpse into what everyday life is for me, playing with my toys, greeting people at work, hanging out on the farm – even the mundane can make me appreciate how very lucky I am.
So enjoy this fun little compilation video made up of clips from the past week or two…
Do you collect photos and video of your dog that never sees the light of day?
I’m so excited to share with you my latest project for my online shop, Flying Hero!
Due to your feedback, I’ve created my brand new 2016 Calendar in a new size and all new images!
Even though in today’s World everyone has calendars and organizers on their phones, it’s still nice to have a happy little calendar to hang on your wall.
And there’s nothing happier than looking at my face every single day!
My 2016 Calendar measures 6″ w x 12″ h and comes punched with a hole for easy hanging on your wall or cork board. (each photo of the calendar measures 6″ x 6″).
The very best part though? I will be DONATING $5 from every sale to the Chester County SPCA. Yay for helping animal rescues!
Each month features a different photograph of me and all photos are printed professionally on archival quality paper. At the end of the year/month the photos would be great for framing and hanging on your wall. (you know if you can’t get enough of me!)
Currently I’m taking pre-orders, and they will begin shipping just after Thanksgiving – with plenty of time for Holiday Gifts!
You can snag one of my 2016 Calendars from my online shop, but hurry, there are limited quantities of these and once they sell out I won’t have any more!
A few weekends ago my mom and dad decided to take me on a fun adventure to the Delaware Beaches. And you know what that means? There are going to be a bazillion photos of me running like a crazy dog on the beach in this post!
Now if you have followed my blog for a while, then you may already know that I LOVE the beach! While I’m not so much a fan of the ocean per-say, I am a fan of the sand. Digging, rolling, and running in it are my idea of a good time.
Despite the fact that it was a little bit chilly, you can tell by the smile on my face just how happy being at the beach made me!
I spent some time relaxing on the beach, and then set out on a late afternoon walk.
It wasn’t long before my parents finally unhooked the leash so I could run as much as my heart desired!
And run I did!
If you’ve ever wondered how I keep such a fit figure….this is how! I was built to run!
After some running I decided it might be nice to cool off in the water. Good thing I found it to be a bit too chilly for me, because you’ll never guess what I found in one of the tide pools!
Oh yes! That’s a small shark right there (with sadly a hook & bobber stuck on him) in one of the beach tide pools.
Dad and I desperately wanted to capture the shark and help remove that hook and send him back out to sea….but of course mom was worried one of us would get an arm or leg bit off! So needless to say we were left hoping that the tide would come in that night and take him back out to see for more shark adventures!
And then it was back to more running on the beach…baywatch style! Of course the daredevil in me ran a little bit close to the water, just enough to make mom worry that the shark was gonna get me!
(P.S. Don’t worry, that shark was safely in another tide pool and I was in no real danger, but it’s fun to pretend!)
After all that running I was pretty pooped! But when mom and dad said it was time to pack up and head back home, I was a little sad.
Don’t worry though, I made sure to bring a little of that beach smell home with me! Nothing quite like a nose full of sand.
Does your dog love the beach as much as I do? Do you ever let your dog run off leash? (P.S. I’m only allowed off leash when mom and dad are sure I’m in the listening mood, as you know sometimes us dachshunds decide we don’t feel like obeying!)
One of my favorite things about Birthday Week is having the chance to look back over my past year of life. As sad as my mom and dad are that I’m another year older, it’s always fun to reminice about all the amazing adventures I had over the past year. And boy did I have a lot of adventures!
So just like last year, my mom helped me compile a video to highlight some of my favorite adventures from my 6th year! So if you’ve got 10 minutes, you’ll definitely want to watch this video filled of happy memories.
This concludes my week of Birthday Fun! I’ll just have to wait until next year to celebrate again. Incase you missed some of the excitement, here’s a recap:
If you’re having a bad day, or you need a reason to smile, then you are in luck, because I’m going to share with you the happiest place on Earth! You can’t help but smile when you find out where I recently took a trip to.
See where I live in Chester County, Pennsylvania we have rolling farmland practically right out my backdoor. But it’s still not everyday that I get to see this type of crop pop up seemingly overnight….
So on a warm sunny afternoon I took a trip out to a very special place with my family, a place where you can’t help but smile.
I got to meet the wonderful family that plants these fields every 4 years (which means I’ll have to wait until 2019 to see them again!), and happily welcomed visitors to their property so that everyone could enjoy the beautiful view. I even learned that they have two dachshunds too!
There were lots of people visiting the Sunflower Fields, and just like everyone else I couldn’t wait to get a picture among the beautiful flowers (while being respectful to the crops of course).
Even my mom and dad got in on the action, and then we broke out the selfie stick…
I think my selfie smile might need a little more work. 🙂
I learned that these sunflowers will soon be making their way into bird seed, so that the happiness will continue!
I’m already counting down the days until fall 2019 when I can visit the sunflowers again! What’s your happiest place to visit with your dog?
You know, sometimes it’s the simple things in life that can bring you the greatest joy.
For example, a few weeks ago I happened across a field of buttercups while on a walk with my mom and dad. And what I did next instantly put a smile on my face…
And to get the full effect you have to run like no one’s watching.
Happiness is a field of buttercups to run through! What brings your dog happiness?
Just after Christmas I went on a fun little excursion to the playground with my family. Who knew playing on the swing set and slides would be so much fun?
I’m already campaigning to add a swing set to my own backyard!
Has your dog ever been to the playground? Did he enjoy playing around as much as I did?
Now that mom is no longer confined to crutches, my weekends are starting to include lots of fun activities again. Here’s a little look into what I was up to this weekend…
Sunbathing at the shop with my gal pal Liebe!
Playing dress-up with some of the new jewelry at the shop.
Inspecting Trooper’s new house.
And hanging out with some of my favorite friends on the farm!
Since February is Pet Dental Health Month I decided that I really should be brushing my teeth regularly. Up until now, it wasn’t really a regular thing for me – although I did chew on lots of those dental sticks, and occasionally break out the tooth brush.
So my new goal is to brush my teeth every night before bed.
It may not be my “favorite” thing to do….
…but it helps that Mom got me special doggie toothpaste that is oh-so-yummy!
And just look at my sparkling smile now! So Shiny!
Tomorrow I’ll share some neat pet products to help keep your pooches’ teeth extra clean!
