Do you remember the toy hamster my dad got me for Christmas? Well, I finally got a chance to play with him last week! And boy was he a barrel of laughs!
Don’t worry, no hamsters were harmed in the making of these videos!

Instead of doing “NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS” I’m going to come up with a list of goals. Things I’d like to do and accomplish this year. My mom made a list of her own for the Trick Ponies (and me) so now it’s my turn to figure out exactly what I want to do this year.
So here’s my list of goals for 2011:
1. Take another agility class or maybe even COMPETE in agility
2. Actually win a race at the Dachshund Races this year
3. Make MORE artwork
4. Visit some nursing homes
5. Perform more with the Trick Ponies
6. Learn at least 10 new tricks
7. Dress up more often
8. Go on vacation
9. Try something new
10. Giggle more
Phew. That was a little harder than I thought! Now do you think I can do it? Have any ideas of what I should add to my list? Anyone learn any new tricks already? (I need to get cracking on that goal)
Today’s Friday Fetch just makes me giggle. Seriously, if you gotta floss your teeth (and mom says you gotta) you might as well get your floss from a dog’s booty.
DOG BUTT FLOSS comes in 5 different colors: Clifford red, bright green, Blue’s blue, Ms. Piggy Pink, and black
You can get these nifty floss holders from fanimals on Etsy.
Since it’s now officially 2011, that means it’s time for me to make my donation to my special charity of choice! For me that would be the Main Line Animal Rescue this year.
Over the past 8 months (since I first dove into the World of Art), I’ve been slowly setting aside some money to make my donation. And since my friends like to help out with a good cause too, The Painting Ponies helped make my donation even bigger this year. Thanks Minnow, Blitz & Boomer!
The MLAR mission statement:
Main Line Animal Rescue specializes in the rescue and placement of abused, unwanted and abandoned companion animals. We never discriminate on the basis of health, age or breed. By involving and educating the community, Main Line Animal Rescue works to raise the public’s awareness of the plight of homeless animals as well as realizing the benefits of adopting an animal in need. Our animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive any and all medical treatment before they are placed in carefully screened homes.
I also decided to share with you some very special friends that are currently up for adoption at MLAR.
Meet Belinda, a 7 year old black and tan female Doxie. Looking for someone to love her!
This is Betty, an 8 year old black and tan female long hair Doxie.
Pretzel is an 11 year old black Dachshund looking for a nice family to call his own.
I am totally potty trained, love to go for short walks and am content to just sit next to my owner or lay by the windows where the sun comes in. I am a little timid so would do best with a quiet home. I am very sweet and will get so excited when you walk in the door. I run around in circles and hop around wagging my tail. I am presently being fostered by a family with two other dogs, but to be honest I’m not that interested in either of them. I am much more interested in people. Please come and meet me and see for yourself how adorable I am.
Rodney is a 7 year old red Dachshund looking for someone to love him!
There are lots more LOVELY dogs available for adoption at MLAR (not just doxies) – I just have a soft spot in my heart for my short and long brothers from another mother. So if you’re looking to bring someone into your home to love FOREVER AND EVER, be sure to check out MLAR – or any other local rescue in your area…..every dog deserves a home and someone to love them!
I send all my love to all the animals out there looking for their forever homes. Hugs and Kisses, your pal Ammo.

I know Christmas is long over, but…..I forgot to tell you about some of the cool things my mom & dad got for Christmas. Honestly, I think there was a mistake, and they were supposed to be for me – Santa must have gotten confused. Either way, I’m sure mom and dad won’t mind if I play with them too!
Mom got a super cool Dachshund pen. I think it looks like me, don’t you?
Photobooth Dogs! Ahhhh! Santa must read my blog!
101 dog tricks! Santa knows me well!
Mom got the super cool Silhouette SD – master at cutting crafts….you know I got lots of projects up my sleeves paws for 2011! Humm, I’m thinking Ammo the Dachshund die cut stickers to plaster all over the World….the possibilities are endless!
Mom’s big gift from Dad – a phone with internet capabilities! We all know this was really just a gift for me….you know, so I can update my facebook page and blog on the fly. Afterall, it’s got my picture on it doesn’t it?
Now all I gotta do is get to the store to pick out which phone I want. Do you think they have ones with buttons big enough for paws?
Dude, I totally know how to party. Here’s a few of my favorite things to make any New Year’s Party a blast!
Funny wardrobe, check.
Friends to party with, check.
Sad puppy eyes so friends will share their drinks, check.
(Don’t worry it was only sparkling grape juice)
Some good entertainment, check.
And lastly, a place to crash when the party’s over, check.
Hope your New Year’s Bash was as fun as mine!
Right before Christmas me and Mom started working on a little Christmas gift for Dad. I knew my Dad would LOVE it!
I had to sit really really still for hours on end!
Ok fine…..mom just used a picture of me for reference because I wouldn’t sit still. Being a portrait model is BORING!
Mom said it’s really hard to capture my adorable cuteness in paint…..but she tried her best. I think it’s pretty good, considering mom said she hasn’t painted in several years!
After a professional looking frame job down at the shop, it was ready for Dad to open on Christmas morning.
Now my likeness is hanging prominently on the wall in the dining room. You can bet when guests come over I brag about it all the time! Even though we all know the real life version is way cuter. 🙂
What do you think? Am I too over dressed for the New Year’s Party? I couldn’t find my Mardi Gras beads so I had to raid Mom’s jewelry box to complete my new years outfit.
In hindsight I probably should have went with the fake mustache……
Oh well, there’s always next year! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I’m looking forward to lots more adventures in 2011! Cheers!
Today’s Friday Fetch is a find from one of my pal’s! And what a find it is!
These silly pet blankets from rikarika are totally awesome. Scare your friends into thinking you’ve been swallowed by a Narwhal or even a Polar Bear.
And if you’re like me and always up for a good burrow, then these would be perfect for snuggling into on a cold winter day! Does Santa do layaway?
I have more to tell you about my exciting Christmas, but I thought I’d interrupt for a little snow day! Santa must have known how much I love the snow, because he ordered up a snowstorm for the day after Christmas! Yipee!
What made it even better was that I got to share my snow day with the ponies at the farm.
Here’s a picture of me on the way to the farm. If you can’t tell I’m uber excited!
I got to help with all kinds of chores around the farm, like bringing hay out to the ponies.
And I got to have a little fun too. Nothing like a good romp in the snow!
Ah, it was a great day to be a dog!
