Rocket Dog

Technically Halloween isn’t until Monday, but I just couldn’t wait any longer to share my very special Halloween costume with all of you. It is way cool!

I’ll give you a hint, I’m not a bird or a plane…

No, I’m ROCKET DOG – faster than a speeding bullet!

You have no idea how excited I was for blast-off! Mom said I had to wear my helmet for safety reasons, and it’s a good thing I did…..

…because the landings were a bit bumpy at first.

But with every crash landing I started to get the hang of it and before I knew it I was a bona fide Rocket Dog!

Yea, that’s right I was rocketing so fast my ears flipped inside out!

The groundhogs in my backyard have no idea what they are in for!

Equipment Crew

Over the weekend we held a horse competition at the farm. Riders come from all over to compete in the high-speed relay racing of mounted games and to win fame & fortune….ok well maybe in reality it was just ribbons & prizes, but that’s besides the point.

Everyone on the farm is expected to help out at the horse show to keep things running smoothly.

This time I was head of the equipment crew with my dad.

I got to run up and down the side lines making sure we had all of the equipment ready for the next race.

Balloons – check, Flags – check, Buckets – check, Bending Poles – check.

It’s a very important job, and someone has to make sure everything is done right. Sometimes even dad needs to be reminded how things are supposed to go.

Incognito

It’s fall on the farm, and it’s my favorite time of year. Even Spider the kitten is excited about the new fallen leaves.

I have to say I’m a wee bit jealous of her – as she’s become a master at going incognito in her leaf surroundings.

Even Cricket can’t figure out how not to stick out like a sore thumb.

And Trooper, don’t even get me started on him, sometimes I don’t even think he tries!

I on the other hand “might” be able to pull off the incognito look, had somebody (*cough* mom) not dressed me in BRIGHT BLUE! Sheesh!

But, despite my shortcomings in the incognito department I can still chase the cats….

….and romp with the dogs. Blue coat and all! Happy Fall to All!

 

It’s Carving Time

Yesterday was Pumpkin Time, today it’s carving time! And boy did I carve some amazing pumpkins this year.

Ok fine, I might have done a little more frolicking and a little less carving.

Alright, maybe it was a lot of frolicking.

I might have also taken a few Popsicle breaks. Yum.

But in my defense I had two willing parents suckers to do all my pumpkin carving for me.

You can pretty much get away with anything when you’re super adorable like me.

It’s Pumpkin Time

Do you know what time it is? If you guessed pumpkin time, then you would be correct! And these fine pumpkins you see – well I got to pick out all of them!

Mom and Dad took me Hurricane Hill Farm to pick out my pumpkins, and I was so excited I couldn’t help but let out a yell.

Last year I did the corn maze, but this year it was all about the pumpkins.

There were so many pumpkins to choose from I really didn’t know where to start.

Slowly I began to load up my wagon with all my favorites.

And I might have licked a few, you know, just to make sure I was picking the tastiest ones.

At the end of the day I came home with a wheelbarrow full of the very best pumpkins.

Flying High at the Dog Park

Over the weekend mom and dad took me to the dog park.

I was having a fantastic time chasing float-away leaves in the stream until I noticed something new at the park!

Dog agility jumps! Being one to never pass up an opportunity to practice my high-flying super hero skills I couldn’t resist testing them out.

All the big dogs were jealous, because man was I FLYING!

I bet you’re jealous too! Skills like this are hard to come by and I totally rocked those dog agility jumps.

Warp speed baby – so lightning fast even my ears are left behind!

Super-Duper Halloween

Sadly it’s not because I have any damsels in distress to rescue today, nor do I have any dragons to fight. No, it’s something much more important than that.

It’s Halloween Party time! Wooohoo!

Mom and Dad are hosting a Halloween party this year, and the theme? Super Heroes of course!

I’m still working out my wardrobe selection, but I definitely think I’m in the running for best dressed!

Kings in the Corner

I may not be a regular like Trooper, but I’m no stranger to a nursing home visit. And when I do visit, it’s the highlight of my day!

Getting to ride the elevator is so much fun, especially when mom lets me press the button!

Then me and Trooper get to spend time visiting with everyone – and posing for the mandated photo op.

Everyone always has a good time, because honestly, who doesn’t love a Dachshund in a sweater? But at the end of the day I really only came for one thing……

Swimming and Dining

Don’t worry, when I took a dip in the Brandywine River over the weekend I made sure to swim BEFORE dining out.

Ah! That was just the right amount of refreshing on an 80 degree fall day!

Dinner out at Appetites was grand, although the waitress failed to listen when I ordered the steak! At least mom was willing to share her hot ham sandwhich with me. Yum Yum.

 

Birthday Week: More Gifts!

Just when I thought there were no more presents to be had during Birthday week I got an extra special surprise in the mail all the way from Canada!

Leila & Harriet from Glowdoggie sent me one of their new neon green mini collars for my Birthday! Aren’t they so sweet. And they must have known how much of a spoiled sport Trooper is too, because they sent one along for him too.

Mom also surprised me with one more gift (which hasn’t quite arrived yet…..shame on her for ordering too late) – it’s a new Molly Mutt duvet cover! Now I just have to decide whether to put it on my dog bed at home – or in the shop…..hummm decisions, decisions.
