Dirty Looks

We’re having a heatwave in Pennsylvania right now. Which means that Trooper and I (and the kitties) can be found trotting around the farm with our tongues hanging out….it’s that hot!

It’s so hot in fact, that our wrestling/play matches have mellowed greatly. Normally Trooper would give me this look and I’d make a B-line for his ankles – you know, to take him down for giving me dirty looks.

Instead I’ve had to resort to name calling, because wrestling in this heat just isn’t going to happen. Nana-a-boo-boo, stick you’re head in doo-doo!

P.S. a word to the wise, don’t resort to name calling unless you are fast as lightning like me – or it could end very very badly.

Summer on the Farm

Today I thought I’d share a few images from my evening on the farm – shot yesterday. Everyday is an adventure, and there is no shortage of things to do on the farm in the Summer. Arguably it’s not your average farm, especially when it’s run by a bunch of Super Heroes with an active imagination. You’re never to old to play dress-up, catch bugs, or in my case – build underground forts. I don’t plan on ever growing up. How about you?

Summer Harvest

This is the apple tree that lives in my yard.

These are the apples that it grows for me.

This is the peach tree that lives in my yard.

These are the peaches that it grows for me.

These are my green peppers.

These are my tomatoes.

These are my cucumbers.

This is what the ground hog did to my cucumbers.

In my defense I was stuck behind my fence…or I WOULD have stopped him.

See, not my fault.

So, you might be wondering – with all of these great fruits & veggies in my yard – why I’m chewing on a stick? Well, it’s because fruits & veggies are YUCK! That’s why.

Sea Legs

Slowly but surely I’m earning my sea legs. You might remember I went on a boat outing a few months ago up in the Poconos. Well yesterday I went on another boat outing at Marsh Creek State Park.

On a 90+ degree day, it was the perfect weather to spend on the lake.

I have to admit I was so excited I did a little yelling. How can you not, when you’re on the open water!?

We did have a little “man overboard” incident…

I know what this looks like, but I swear I didn’t push him!

Dad probably should have been wearing his life vest.

Well, I’ve pretty much mastered this boating thing. Easy Peazy Lemon Squeezy! I think next time I might try my hand paw at windsurfing!

Movie Night

Sometimes movie night at my house is a little different.

This particular movie night we headed to the park to watch Shrek 3.

I was super excited, because before the movie started I got to wait in line to get some ice cream, just like all the other boys and girls.

I was excited about the ice cream, but the rest of the kids were excited about me!

What can I say, I must be way cooler than ice cream!

Shrek 3 was fantastic – Gingy is my favorite character, which may or may not be because he looks so tasty! I’ll never tell..

Canoeing down the Brandywine

After my big excursion to the Pocono mountains over the weekend I decided that I just couldn’t get enough of the water! So the next day me and Trooper decided to go for a canoe ride down the Brandywine River.

Believe it or not, this was my very first canoe ride! Trooper’s been a bunch of times without me (no fair), since the farm is within walking distance to the river.

Now I thought I liked boat rides, but canoeing is like loads of fun!

The best part about the canoeing, is that we got to stop and play in the water. Trooper even found a rope swing – which he attempted to swing on unsuccessfully. And I got to practice my underwater diving skills.

“Can we get back in the canoe? This is so much fun!”

In fact, I loved it so much, that mom let me climb to the VERY tippy top of the canoe. I was really feeling brave – so I DOVE off of the front and into the water for a swim. Seriously, I did that!

I had so much fun, that I’m already begging mom to take me back next weekend.

So, how about you? Any other canoeing dogs out there?
