If you follow me on Facebook, than you might already know that recently I picked up a special little item for Trooper to use during our performance this weekend at the Keystone Dachshund Races.
That item? A SUPER girly tutu fit for any princess.
Trooper wasn’t as thrilled about it as I am – and lets just say he refused to do some of his tricks during practice. So I did what any Super friend would do….
I put on the tutu!
I guess Trooper’s not as secure in his manliness like I am. And even though I am a boy, I look dang good in this tutu.
And if the rumors are true, than Princesses get whatever they want, right? Well this Prince-ss wants a new rawhide, and perhaps a couple of toy trucks. You know, just to balance things out a bit.
Wow! We’re only a week away from my big performance at the Keystone Dachshund Races with my pal, Trooper. Trooper has been practicing really hard, he had to learn several new tricks in the past few weeks. So I finally decided that Trooper had earned a little reward for his efforts.
So mom and dad helped me build my pal a Super Hero Box! (Just like mine – only bigger). Of course it turned out so great, that I had to take it for a little spin myself.
And no super hero is complete without a super cape! So my pal Baxter’s mom whipped up a cape especially for my buddy Trooper.
I totally had to take it for a test spin.
“Um, mom, do you think Trooper would mind if I kept his cape and box?”
I decided to have a little fun today via one of my new favorite sites, Pinterest. So while looking for something fun to share with you guys for my Friday Fetch, I decided to search “dog wedding” (you know, just for fun). The result looked a little something like this:

Magical right? Sadly I didn’t get to attend my mom & dad’s wedding (I was born the very next day!) – but I suppose it would have looked a little something like this:
Yes, I’m quite jealous that Minnow got to attend the festivities without me. He even got a very important job!
He was the “flower pony” and had to walk down the wedding isle tossing flowers as he went. He was such a good “flower pony” that I was thinking maybe I should hire him out. I can see it now, “Amazingly talented pony tosses flowers at wedding for big time celebrities”. I’m totally gonna be rich. hehe.

After my big excursion to the Pocono mountains over the weekend I decided that I just couldn’t get enough of the water! So the next day me and Trooper decided to go for a canoe ride down the Brandywine River.
Believe it or not, this was my very first canoe ride! Trooper’s been a bunch of times without me (no fair), since the farm is within walking distance to the river.
Now I thought I liked boat rides, but canoeing is like loads of fun!
The best part about the canoeing, is that we got to stop and play in the water. Trooper even found a rope swing – which he attempted to swing on unsuccessfully. And I got to practice my underwater diving skills.
“Can we get back in the canoe? This is so much fun!”
In fact, I loved it so much, that mom let me climb to the VERY tippy top of the canoe. I was really feeling brave – so I DOVE off of the front and into the water for a swim. Seriously, I did that!
I had so much fun, that I’m already begging mom to take me back next weekend.
So, how about you? Any other canoeing dogs out there?
Except this time I wasn’t going to grandma’s house! No, instead me and Trooper loaded into the family car and headed to the Pocono Mountains – to the family cabin!
Of course the first thing I did when I got there was run around like a maniac. Wouldn’t you?
After a few good laps, the next logical thing was to find dig a hole.
Only, I got a little carried away in my hole digging (I might need therapy) and before I knew it – I was stuck!
Don’t worry, everyone eventually dug me out – and mom reached in and pulled me to safety. I was a little muddy and tired – but that didn’t stop me from getting back in the hole TWO MORE TIMES (each complete with their own rescue mission). hehe.
Apparently after the third rescue everyone was getting a little tired of saving me (although I thought it was a blast) so I had to sit in time out in the cabin while mom barricaded the holes under the shed.
I promised not to do it again, so mom finally forgave me and let me outside to play with Trooper.
Look at me mom! I’m just like a dolphin!
And of course we HAD to take the row boat out onto the pond.
And to no one’s surprise, Trooper fell out within the first few minutes. I told him he should have worn a life vest (he sucks at swimming – even for a half Labrador).
So I gave Trooper a few pointers, and he actually started looking pretty good.
The Devon Horse Show is a yearly tradition for me. In fact, I’ve been attending every year since I was about 12 weeks old. If you have no idea what Devon is – here’s a little history lesson for you:
In 1896, the Devon Horse Show started as a one-day show. Now, years later, it has become the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed competition in the United States. It is internationally recognized, USEF-A rated, and one of the most exciting events to happen in Chester County. While it draws top competitors from around the world, the show continues to reflect the local traditions and lifestyles of the Philadelphia Main Line.
Needless to say it’s full of fancy people in big hats, dogs, horses, carriages, funnel cake, amusement rides, shopping, and apparently sheep! Yes, that’s right sheep.
See my pal Trooper (the Australian Shepherd/Labrador) told me that there was going to be sheep herding at Devon this year. I knew that was something not to be missed. And since Trooper was too tired to come, I video taped most of it for him.
I guess it was pretty cool – although I’d still take my groundhog holes over herding around some sheep. To each his own.
After the sheep herding demo I was pretty famished, so I headed over to the concessions to grab some funnel cake.
Then I indulged mom and did a little shopping with her at Anthropologie.
Mom bought this:
Which I would have been much more thrilled about had it come with cookies in it. Ok, now I’m drooling.
For today’s Friday Fetch I figured since we’re heading into memorial day weekend that it might be nice to have a little fun! So I decided to grab some of my favorite shots from canine photographer, Ron Schmidt of Loose Leashes!
I hope that it’s a reminder to everyone to let loose a little and enjoy life.
