One of the questions I get a lot is why do I tolerate wearing coats, sweaters, and even costumes so well? The answer is simple, I was born in October and warm outfits became an important part of my everyday life to keep me warm at a very young age!

Not to mention I looked oh-so-good in a hand knitted sweater!

Birthday Wrap-up

A long overdue post, I bet you guys are wondering what exciting things I did on my day of birth (October 5th). And more importantly, what goodies did Mom and Dad get me?

When it comes to presents, I’m an unwrapping fool! I can unwrap a present faster than you can blink – a glorious achievement!

After the chaos ensued, I was left with some lovely Birthday gifts from my very generous parents.

It was a very happy day.

My Birthday bounty included a new collar from Mattie & Margot, a lime green hand-knitted sweater from By Chance Designs, a jar of Pet Fair Noshers to fill my toys, a toy and bag of cookies from my bestest friend Trooper, and a Kicker Box.

I felt like the luckiest boy in the World! And after a little bit of celebratory barking, mom agreed to let me test out my new Kicker Box.

The Kicker Box is a toy designed to challenge a dog, and get them thinking as they try to figure out how to get the treats out of the box by moving the nobs from side to side and up and down. And after about 5 minutes, I knew why they called it a kicker box…..

….because I wanted to kick that dang box to the curb! Seriously, all I wanted was my cookies and this box was keeping them all to himself. This must have been some sort of cruel joke.

But since I’m a pretty smart guy, I eventually figured out how to move the nobs and release my treats. It’s still a cruel joke is you ask me though!

My 4th Birthday was loads of fun, and I’m so glad I got to celebrate it all week with all my friends. Now begins my countdown to Christmas, when I get to open all my presents from Santa! Yay! Ammo the Dachshund

I may not be a regular like Trooper, but I’m no stranger to a nursing home visit. And when I do visit, it’s the highlight of my day!

Getting to ride the elevator is so much fun, especially when mom lets me press the button!

Then me and Trooper get to spend time visiting with everyone – and posing for the mandated photo op.

Everyone always has a good time, because honestly, who doesn’t love a Dachshund in a sweater? But at the end of the day I really only came for one thing……

Friday Fetch: Weenie Sweaters

Ok, so I know that NOT everyone out there that reads my blog is a Dachshund, but I just can’t help but come across some of those fabulous products that have DACHSHUND written all over them. So if you aren’t a Dachshund, or you don’t have a Dachshund friend (for shame!) then look away. Otherwise, check out these totally awesome sweaters made to fit the short and long!

Every Stitch Counts makes sweaters (and neck warmers called snoods) from all-natural re purposed virgin fibers. All of the wools are felted making them especially strong, warm and weather “proof”.

Since my Pennsylvania winters can be a little harsh for me, I decided to order myself a sweater! Being that I’m a Tweenie (for you non-doxie folks that means I’m too big to be a miniature dachshund and too small to be a standard dachshund), there wasn’t a selection of sweaters in my size. But luckily Susan from Every Stitch Counts said she would make one specifically to fit me!
