Living in Pennsylvania I’ve been through my fair share of winter storms. But one of the first BIG ones I encountered was in 2010 when it snowed so much that I could barely get through it.
Oh who am I kidding, even when it snows just a little I can barely get through it with my short legs! But that doesn’t stop me from having a grand time!
Only time will tell if this winter will bring any record snowfalls! Just incase I’ve stocked up on snowsuits! 
My pal Cricket and I have been friends for a very long time. Cricket it is one of those very special cats that is very tolerant of EVERYTHING. In fact, dare I say she’s more like a dog than a cat?
Case in point, when I was just a pup Cricket used to wrestle with me…..and being the sweetheart that she is, she let me win too…

Way back in the day when I was just a year old mom and dad took me to my very first Earthdog competition. Immediately I took to tracking and “hunting” the rats, as seen in this throwback video:
However, my young self hadn’t quite grasped the concept of hunting underground (I know can you believe it!), so I would bypass the tunnels and head straight for the rats!
I mean can you really blame me…..I was looking for the shortcut!
Fast forward to today, and I’m pretty sure finding a rat in a tunnel would be a piece of cake!
Holes are my specialty now!
Was your dog a natural born hunter like I was? Or did it develop over time, like my hole excavating skills?
To become as skilled as I have in performing and learning tricks there is also a lot of behind the scenes training that goes on. Since I was just 8 weeks old mom has been helping me learn cues and tricks. Consistency is key, and also having a pocket full of treats!

When I was just a wee pup my best friend Trooper used to come to the shop with me everyday to “babysit” me. More often than not the day was spent napping or wrestling with my best friend. We quickly learned that while at work we had to “silent wrestle” aside from the occasional “uncle” shouts – most often coming from Trooper!

Wow, that was some March! Exciting as it was, I can’t wait to kick off April. Speaking of April, how did you guys enjoy my little April Fools Day Joke? A couple of years ago I took to the air (just like Snoopy only not quite as dramatic) and went for my first single engine plane ride! I had a blast looking at everything below turn into tiny little specs….just like ants….or rodents to be hunted!
