This Wild Ride

It’s been 7 whole years since I published my very first blog post on this blog. That’s over 1,600 stories and adventures that I’ve shared over the years. A lot has happened in those 7 years, I became a certified therapy dog, I celebrated countless Birthdays, I hunted many groundhogs, and I even welcomed my little sister into the world.

What started as a Facebook page for me to share my happenings with everyone, turned into this blog as my fans wanted to hear even more about my life! From welcoming customers at the family frame shop, to performing with my famous trick pony friends, and my adventurous weekends with my mom and dad – you’ve pretty much seen it all.

While I absolutely love sharing my daily life with all of you, after 7 years of documenting my every move I’m starting to feel like I need a little vacation.

So while I’m technically not going anywhere, I am planning to take a little step back from my blog so that I can soak up all the fun with my family without feeling like I need to snap photos every step of the way.

Now this doesn’t mean you won’t see any blog posts from me in the future, it just means for now my regular posting schedule of Monday, Wednesday, Friday every week won’t be around. Instead I plan to share when I’ve got something that I just can’t wait to tell you about. You know, the juicy stuff.

And even though I won’t have a new blog post as often, you can still follow me on Facebook & Instagram where I still plan to share little snapshots into my life more regularly. If you’d like to be the first to know when I do have a special blog post to share, make sure you’ve signed up for my E-Mail updates. Which means you’ll get an e-mail every time I publish a new blog post.

Finally I wanted to say Thank You. Thank you to all of you who have kept up with my adventures, whether it be occasionally, or every single day. Know that it’s you that have kept me blogging these past 7 years. I’ve read every single comment you’ve left me, and every e-mail you’ve sent. I treasure all of them, even if I don’t always have the time to respond. Hopefully you can understand my need for a vacation from the blog after all these years.

Our journey never ends. My next adventure is just around the corner, and I can hear it calling. xoxo,

How the Trax GPS Tracker Can Make Life Easier

With every day that passes my little sister becomes more and more mobile.

While she may technically be moving she’s not exactly great at the whole “mobile” thing yet….especially the backing up part! Which means mom has to keep her eyes glued to Baby P pretty much all the time.

Now I’m a good dog 90% of the time (hey, we can’t all be perfect), and that other 10%….well, I sort of like to push the boundaries a little bit. What can I say, I am a stubborn DACHSHUND!

Mainly though, I just like to run (well and hunt, and dig, and roll in stinky stuff….but that’s a story for another day). So when mom has eyes on Baby P, she can’t keep tabs on me too – especially when I’m enjoying my time out on the farm.

Lucky for my mom she has had a secret weapon for many years now, the Trax GPS Tracker for Pets. While you might remember me mentioning Trax before, this time I got to take the newer Trax Play for a spin. Being the World’s smallest and lightest live GPS tracker on the market, it’s perfectly sized for a little dog like me!

Mom breathes a little easier when I’m wearing my Trax Play because she can worry more about making sure my sister doesn’t drive off a cliff, and less about where I’m wandering. Moms…..they are always worrying about their “kids”!

While I’ve tried many GPS trackers over the years, one of the main reasons my family keeps coming back to Trax as their favorite is because of the ability to add multiple custom geo-fences.

Geo-fences are basically “safe areas” that your pet can be, but should I wander too far and leave the geo-fence then mom gets a text alert on her phone to let her know I left the vicinity. Most of the other Pet GPS Trackers out there only allow you to create circular radiuses and only one per unit, but with Trax you can really be custom about your pet’s safe area.

Another cool feature is the augmented reality, where you can use your phone’s camera to locate your pet. When you point the camera in your dogs direction, an icon, with a distance indicator, will guide you to their location. Pretty cool, even if it does give away all of my secret ground hog hole locations!

Battery life in the new Trax Play is new and improved too, lasting up to 3 days on one charge! The only thing that would make Trax even better in mom’s eyes is if they added a sound locater (then I wouldn’t have to wear my annoying bells on the farm!).

While admittedly it seems like so very long ago that I went on my Thanksgiving vacation to Charleston, South Carolina, I just couldn’t let anymore time past before I shared some of my amazingly fun adventures with you.

Thanksgiving is obviously well behind us, but with the craziness that is Christmas I never got to finish telling you all about my adventures on my last road trip! So today I wanted to share my fun shopping excursions in Charleston, South Carolina!

Trooper and I are always very excited when we are involved in the family outings during vacation. While most dogs might sit at home Trooper and I are included in as much as possible, and you better believe I wasn’t going to let them leave me out of a shopping adventure!

Before heading to Charleston we made a stop at this cute market on Folly Beach. Apparently it’s a mini “grocery store” according to mom and dad.

Now I’ve never been in a grocery store before, because they are normally a “no dogs allowed” place, but Bert’s Market is super dog friendly! I guess in a small beach town you can have those luxuries.

Before hitting Charleston for some more shopping Trooper and I stopped off at the Disc Golf course to watch some of my family play. My buddy Sharkie was there too making sure no discs ended up in the lake. Apparently he’s an expert at rescuing drowning discs…..go Sharkie!

Most of the shops I visited became a blur, but eventually we found a cute little pet shop and mom bought me some of my favorite treats.
