Easter is this weekend, so mom decided we could have a little pre-Easter fun by having an Easter Egg Hunt!
Incase you didn’t want to miss out on the fun either, here’s what you’ll need to have your very own Dog Friendly Easter Egg Hunt:
Plastic Easter Eggs
Small Dog Treats
An excited Pup that’s ready to hunt for eggs!
Simply fill your eggs with the treats and place them around the house or yard for your dog to find.
You can also use the egg hunt as a way to work on some training. Asking your dog to sit and wait before hunting for the eggs helps them learn patience.
Make sure to supervise your pet during the egg hunt, as you will have to help them open the eggs once found (it’s those cumbersome paws)! Also be sure to make sure they don’t chew on the eggs, as they can break easily.
Next time I think I’ll have to invite my friends over to partake in all the fun!
With Easter just around the corner it has me dreaming about what delectable treats Mr. Bunny will be leaving in my Easter basket this year.
So when I stumbled across the Paw Street Barkery and all their organic dog treats I just knew I would be secretly hoping some of them end up in my Easter Basket this year.
Drooling yet? You can fetch these drool-worthy treats from the Paw Street Barkery HERE.
Did you ever find that perfect sunny spot in the house? You know the one, it’s warm and soft, and makes you just want to snuggle up and close your eyes.
There really is only one thing that can drag me from a sunny spot…..COOKIES!
Do you have any? Because I’d gladly lend you my sunny spot for the afternoon if you did! *wink*
Last week I celebrated the hallmark holiday (v-day) at home with my family. Curled up on the couch, with a small token gift or two, it was the perfect way to celebrate the day!
I gave out tons of free kisses, and mom and dad got me a few small items to show how much they care.
Last weekend I took my very first trip to PetValu. Have you ever been to a PetValu? If not, you are in for a treat.
Upon entering I could immediately tell that this place was just a little bit different from the big box pet stores like Petsmart and Petco.
This store was filled with fun items that I hadn’t seen at the pet stores I usually frequent.
I was immediately drawn to the display of Jonathan Adler merchandise – I loved his fun colorful patterns.
Mom was so close to bringing home this new leash for me (probably for the packaging alone) but Dad thought it was a bit too colorful for a boy (I can rock pink better than any girl!).
I had a blast wandering around the store sniffing out all the goodies. Many of their products were healthy and all natural, and they had a much wider selection of the “good for you” treats than most of the pet shops I’ve been in.
Oh and they had cats, lots and lots of cats! Mom heard they were rescue cats that are up for adoption, and I had fun playing “find the kitty” all over the store.
Can you find the Kitty?
Not only did PetValu have cats scattered all over the shop, but they also had a shop bunny that was dog friendly. I REALLY wanted to see how friendly he was, but Mom wouldn’t let me get too close, probably because of my bunny killing record in the backyard.
My trip to Petvalu had me coming home with two fun products. A Nylabone Durachew (which I love) and a bag of Get Naked Antioxidant Dental Chew Treats.
I had a great time at PetValu, and I’m sure I will be visiting again real soon.
Most of the PetValu stores are located in Canada and along the East Coast of the US, but you can click here to find one nearest to you.
I was not paid or perked to write about PetValu, I just thought everyone would enjoy taking a trip inside the pet store with me!
Being that it’s Black Friday (the biggest Holiday Shopping Day of the Year), I thought it would be fun to do a little Holiday Spirit round-up for you AND YOUR DOG. Because we all know how much fun it is to get into the Holiday Spirit. So here’s a few dog-gone-great items I’ve been drooling over lately ….
I don’t know about you, but I’m totally ready to get my jingle jangle on! While your getting into the Holiday Shopping Spirit, don’t forget to check out my Online Shop for great Holiday Cards as well as my 2013 Calendar, it makes a great Christmas gift!
100% of the proceeds go to the Best Friends Animal Society to help with their sandy relief efforts. Yay for helping pets in need! And while you’re grabbing up your own limited edition tote on Bocce’s Bakery you can check out their super yummy, but super good for you, pet treats.
You might remember that for my Birthday back in the beginning of October I received a gift from my parents called the Kicker Box. This box with it’s confusing levers that held my treats captive was a source of frustration for me for the first week or so. But, truth be told, it’s no secret as to how stubborn us Dachshunds are – and I couldn’t give up on the Kicker Box without a fight.
I’m now a master at dispensing my treats from the box, and to prove it to you my mom shot this video of me working for my breakfast this morning:
Do you think your dog could master the Kicker Box?
Disclosure: I was not paid or perked to write about this product, I just wanted to share with my fans this fun toy.
I’ve been posting a lot this week about the new Polka Dog Line at Target, and I couldn’t help but squeeze one more post in about them this Friday – because I found the icing to my cupcake!
Via the A Bullseye View Blog I found a DIY recipe for Healthy Sweet Potato Treats for your furry friend. And never one to pass up a good cookie recipe I wanted to share it with everyone! Not to mention this is super easy to make and only requires two ingredients – the perfect start to your weekend for you and your dog.
Sweet Pawtato Chips Makes 32-42 treats
Made from sweet potatoes (loaded with vitamin C, potassium and fiber) soaked in chicken broth, these thinly sliced treats are a healthy snack solution.
What You Need:
2 medium sweet potatoes
Chicken broth
What You’ll Do:
1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
2. Wash and Scrub Sweet Potatoes. Slice 1/8” thick with a mandolin or sharp knife.
3. Place in small bowl and cover with chicken broth. Let soak for 1/2 hour.
4. Take slices out of bowl and place on parchment lined sheet pans.
5. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
6. Remove from oven, and allow to cool.
Make sure you check out the full post for more photos and another recipe for Chicken Dog Biscuits. And you can bet I’ll be begging my mom to make me some of these this weekend!
It’s no secret that I love to shop (who doesn’t?), and I’m always so excited when I find a super cool new product or shop.
Recently Target stores across the country launched The Shops, which is a collection of products from local boutique stores like Cos Bar, Privet House, The Candy Store, The Webster, and my personal favorite The Polka Dog Bakery. So just like any good dog mom, my mom headed to Target yesterday to check it out for me while I waited in the car (since sadly I couldn’t sneak in myself). Each store varies in their merchandise, but you can check out most of their collection online.
Of course just scoping out the new products isn’t enough – you have to physically test the merchandise!
So mom came home with a Dog Toy and a box of cookies for me to try.
If you can’t tell by the look on my face, it was a glorious day!
My ice cream sandwich may have not tasted like the real thing, but it was fantastic just the same.
Not only did it squeak, but it was filled with stuffing too!
I eventually broke a hole in my ice cream sandwich, so it doesn’t squeak anymore – but it’s still just as fun to play with. Plus, mom says I look super adorable when I nibble on it.
Later mom let me snack on some of the Polka Dog Bakery treats, which were an all-natural chicken flavor.
They get an A++ from me for yumminess! In fact, I’m so in love with my Polka Dog Bakery items that I’m already trying to convince mom to raid all of the Target’s in my area for more fun items from the collection.
Anyone else spot fun items from The Polka Dog Bakery at their local Target? You can post your finds on my Facebook page so we can all drool over their fabulous items!
P.S. Dear Target & The Polka Dog Bakery, if you are reading this, I am more than happy to test all of your merchandise! It would be a big time commitment, but I’m willing to dedicate myself to the cause! 😉
