If you still haven’t decided what to do today then you might want to meet me!
Minnow the Painting Pony I will be visiting the Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show in Pennsylvania TODAY from 12 – 5pm! We will be painting/performing tricks at 1:30pm and 3:30pm at our booth on the midway. We hope you’ll come visit us!
Whenever it’s time to work on training the ponies I’m never too far as I love offering encouraging words to my ponies as they learn new skills and tricks.
My buddy Boomerang here is learning how to be more comfortable on a teeter totter.
Sometimes though, the ponies learn best by watching someone else do it first. So I offer up my skills, and tell Boomerang to watch this as I plod effortlessly across the teeter totter. In theory, watching someone else do it helps my ponies to realize it’s not as scary as it seems.
Although it would also help if Boomerang was actually paying attention instead of sneaking grass behind me! Sigh.
So, as most of you know my mom left me home last week while she went on a fantastical adventure with two of my favorite ponies, Minnow and Boomerang, to Chincoteague Island for the 88th Annual Pony Penning.
They got to do amazing things like check out the wild pony round-up, swim, and auction – and they even got to perform all week at the Chincoteague Pony Centre.
My mom took some amazing pictures, so even though I wasn’t there – her photos make me feel like I was! You can check them all out HERE.
But I was most excited to hear about how my ponies did in their big performances, especially Boomerang who did an amazing job on his very FIRST debut – I’m pretty sure everyone was super impressed with the bean bag sitting skills that I taught him.
Even my special pony Minnow did an amazing job painting some beautiful pictures that were auctioned off after each show – with part of the money going to help local animal rescue groups!
The ponies will have their own recap of all their adventures on their blog soon!
And while you may think I just spent my week at home like this:
I actually had quite a few adventures of my own at home with dad! But those will have to wait for another post!
But you can check out all the fun my ponies had on their facebook page, and soon on their blog.
Every year my mom packs up the ponies and heads to Chincoteague Island in Virginia for the Annual Chincoteague Pony Swim and Auction the last week in July. Sadly I’m always left behind for this annual homecoming of sorts, mostly because mom says it’s too hot for me!
So while I stay home with dad and watch movies, eat junk food, and stay up way too late, mom and my ponies are performing all week long at the Chincoteague Pony Centre in the hot summer weather. Perhaps I got the better end of this deal?
I’m wishing my ponies the best of luck in their performances, and I just know they’ll make lots of people smile!
See you when you return ponies! You better bring me back a souvenir!
Also, check out this article that was in my local paper all about my favorite ponies! Read it HERE.
As my facebook fans know, I’m back from my amazing trip to the Equine Extravaganza to compete in the talent contest with my pony pal, Chincoteague Minnow.
And guess what!!?? I came back as the winner! Well ok, Minnow & I are the winners!
Mom was kinda nervous for the performance, but Minnow & I knew exactly what we were doing. Just check it out for yourself:
We were up against some stiff competition….
But I think it was my adorableness that won the judges over. I also threw in a few extra moves of my own to really wow them too…..Like digging a REALLY REALLY big hole. I mean did you hear all the laughs I got? I have to admit I’m kinda bitter that the crowd clapped the loudest for Minnow & he won the super hero trophy…..I guess I can give him that one though, since it WAS a HORSE EXPO.
Not only did I win glory in the contest, but I also won the opportunity to have a private training session with Movie Star Animal Trainer, Doug Sloan. I can see myself now in a kibble commercial, or maybe the next marvel super hero movie! I mean after all the 2008 talent contest winner, Amazing Grace, became a movie star after she won! So hey, it could happen to me right?
But, even if I don’t become a super star, my mom said she’ll always be proud of me, and I don’t need a fancy movie role to be special.
And you know, my mom’s right. Because I perform to make people smile and laugh, and because it’s fun! (not to mention the chicken and cheese mom gives me is to die for!)
So maybe someday you will see me on the big screen, but if not, I’ll be just as happy to continue to make my fans smile.
P.S. I have lots more photos to share from my adventuresome weekend….so check back tomorrow….you can also head over to the Trick Ponies Blog to see more videos from my travels.
