The Training of a Super Dog

These are my two best friends. Minnow the Painting Pony and Trooper. All three of us do lots of things together. Minnow and I get to perform together as Super Pony and Super Dog. Trooper and I mostly just wrestle. I’ve been feeling kinda bad that Trooper doesn’t get to go on big trips with me and Minnow, so I decided to do something special for him.

I’ve decided to take him on as my protege and train him to be MY sidekick, Super Trooper!

Minnow pretty much busted out laughing when I told him this.

After all, Trooper is a little big to fit through my hoop.

But I’m a pretty good trainer – so I know I’ll get my pal Trooper set straight! After all, he only has about 4 weeks to prepare for his…..

…… FIRST PERFORMANCE!

And the best part is …..Trooper has to perform in front of all my Dachshund friends at the Keystone Dachshund Races! It is certain to be epic!

Don’t worry, I told him I’d perform with him as the Star of the Show (so no one will notice too much when he messes up). So if you don’t want to miss Trooper’s debut performance – and my amazing wonderfulness, be sure to come to the Keystone Dachshund Races and watch us perform at lunch time! Admission is $2 – but it goes to charity!

P.S. I’ll be racing for Charity too! Although no promises on a winning race – I hear last year’s champion, Mr. Monkey, will be back to defend his title. I’m shaking in my boots!

Oh and in case I don’t embarrass myself enough on this blog. Here’s some photos from my first dachshund races when I was just 8 months old.

At least I won something.

The End.

Easter Treats

Well my Easter plan worked, because the Easter Bunny definitely visited my house!

Mom made me wait to open my Easter basket until after we went to the farm & fed all the ponies. As you can imagine by that point I could hardly contain my excitement! So when I finally got my paws on those presents he left for me – I went a little nuts.

Oh Boy!

Immediately I took cover under the bushes in my yard, because I knew Trooper would want to play with my new toys.

As you can see he found me.

But that’s ok, because Trooper’s gonna have this look on his face when I get even!….

hehe.

Friday Fetch: Bow Tie

With Easter just around the corner, lately I’ve been thinking about my “Sunday Best”. And that’s when I remembered my pal, Buddy!

Buddy’s mom not only make’s totally awesome collars (which both Trooper and I wear everyday!), but she also makes totally pawesome bow ties. I’m seriously drooling over the Aqua Honeycomb one!

These 100% cotton collars include a matching snap on, movable and removable handmade bow tie.

You can fetch one just in time for your Easter Best at SillyBuddy for $40.

Spider Monkey

Spider the kitten is like my little sister. She’s really fun to pick on and make fun of. Mom says it will come back to bite me in the butt someday. But until then I’m gonna torture her all I want!

Hey Spider……come here, I gotta tell you something….

…. “You look like a Monkey and smell like one too”…..hehe….

Ahhhh, run!

She’s coming to get me!

Yeah, that’s right – keep looking. You can’t find me because I’m the fastest wiener dog ever!

I know you’re plotting some sort of revenge against me. But if you promise not to claw me, I’ll TRY to stop eating your kitty food. I’ll try.

Love,

Your big bro

Ammo

P.S. Trooper says you smell like farts! hehe

Sofa Match

After the big horse show over the weekend I invited my pal Trooper over to play.

We always have lots of fun….well when Trooper isn’t moping & crying for his mommy. (He’s kinda a baby).

Attention Shoppers

Attention shoppers….will someone please tell me why none of these dog toys seem to have squeakers inside? I thought the squeaker was a staple in dog toys?

Where’s the stuffing I can rip out, or the bones I can gnaw on?

I’m starting to regret saying I’d come on this shopping trip.

Mom, Dad, if you are reading this….I do not appreciate random trips to the store, when all we come back with is a very large piece of wood. Seriously. I could have been napping somewhere or chasing Leprechauns on the farm with Trooper. I am not amused. Try harder next time.

America’s Cutest Cats

I admit, it took me WAY too long to post this video. Most of my facebook fans know that back in 2010 I made a little cameo appearance on Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Cats with my farm pal, Cricket. Just a short clip of a good old wrestling match between me and my gal which they noticed on Youtube and requested to use. Check it out:

You might remember that I was also on Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Dogs with my favorite pony, Minnow!

This makes me sorta like a Reality TV Star then right? It’s only a matter of time before I have my own show – you better get your autographs now, before I’m swamped with paparazzi!

Elevator Up Please

For me, an elevator ride usually means one thing……we’re visiting great-grandma!

Over the weekend me and Trooper took a trip to visit my great-grandma.

Trooper’s favorite part about our visits is greeting all the residents at the nursing home (and the nurses). Here we are waiting for someone to say hi to.

My favorite part is getting the “scraps” that are inevitably left EVERYWHERE!

It’s like they knew I was coming and set out a special treat just for me. Mmmmmm….cheese….

Leprechaun Gold

Remember when I went searching in the woods for gnomes, trolls, and leprechauns a few days ago with Trooper? Well I did it. I found the leprechaun hole! Leprechauns live in holes right?

This must be where the Leprechauns live, I can smell their gold!

I was soooo close to catching them. But they had it pretty well booby trapped with briers.

I decided I’ll have to come back when Trooper is around to help me. Unless his dainty paws can’t handle the thorns.

Mark my words Leprechauns, I’ll get my paws on that gold!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

P.S. If you find any Leprechauns today tell them I’m on to them, and I know where they live!

Woodland Creature

Ah the smell of the great outdoors! It’s right up there with the smell of dead animals, bacon, and ponies. Being a farm dog means that there is PLENTY to explore. With 20 glorious acres on the family farm, there is lots of untouched and uncharted territory for one short legged Dachshund like myself. So when mom asked me last week if I wanted to go exploring in the woods, what else can you say but, heck yes I do!

It’s been a while since I last explored me some woods out at the farm, so I kinda thought there might be a chance of finding some woodland creatures. Alas, no hidden gnomes or scary trolls in these parts. Not even a hint of leprechaun gold either! Drat.

Woodland creature hunting sure wore me out. Me and Trooper are already planning our next exploring trip. I told Trooper we need to get a super cool predator vision night goggle cam like our pal Baxter the Dachshund so we can catch those sneaky leprechauns when they come out at night. hehe.
