Just popping in today to wish everyone a Happy Independence Day!
I’m off to enjoy an extra long weekend of fun all the while celebrating my home in the good old US of A. Catch you all next week!
As you saw yesterday, I went on a weekend camping adventure to the Pocono Mountains – in search of fun! Well aside from lounging around the campsite, my pal Shilah the Husky and I also went on a day-time adventure to hike the nearby Glen Onoko Falls.
After checking out some scenic overlooks we decided to hit up the popular trail to see some of the falls.
Hiking is one of my all-time favorite activities, in fact I get so excited that I charge up the trails like I was the lead sled dog instead of Shilah!
This particular hike was quite rocky, but Shilah and I were up for the challenge!
Our parents were glad to have our new Ruffwear Roamer Leashes with them, which made the hike so much more enjoyable. Stay tuned on Monday for a full review on them, and a chance to win one for your dog!
We crossed water and fallen trees, and mom found herself wishing we had one of Ruffwear’s Hiking Harnesses with the handle to lift me over obstacles like my hiking pals Chester & Gretel from You Did What With Your Weiner.
Shilah and I made it pretty far up the hike before stopping for a group photo….because that’s how we roll! We didn’t make it all the way to the big waterfall at the top because the climb started to get pretty steep and our parents were worried about the decent for us dogs (although I totally could of made it!).
On the way back down we ran into these two pups. I warned them that they may wish they had leashes attached to their humans as it got higher – because we all know those of us with 4 legs have to keep those with 2 legs from falling off the side of the mountain!
When we reached the bottom of our hike Shilah and I decided to take a dip in the river while our parents ate lunch.
I showed off my swimming skills to all the other pups hanging around the river, and I’m pretty sure they were all wishing they had a spiffy life vest just like me.
After cooling off Shilah and I decided to head into Jim Thorpe to grab some ice cream!
Italian Ice was just what I needed after an invigorating hike!
I was sad to end my weekend full of camping and hiking, but I have to say it was nice to finally get back home to my air conditioning!
Rumor has it I won’t have to wait too long for my next camping adventure, as I’m headed off on another adventure soon….this time with my ponies!
Over the weekend I packed my bags and headed for the mountains, the Pocono Mountains to be exact, for a weekend of camping and fun with my pal Shilah the Husky.
Shilah and I both made our way to the mountains ready for some adventures, and a bit of relaxing too.
Our rustic retreat included a super fun footbridge (the only way across the river) that Shilah and I thought was a blast!
Our parents perhaps could of wished they could park the car a little closer to our campsite. But like I say, a little exercise never hurt anyone!
Our digs for the weekend included a fun little cabin (although I opted to set-up and sleep in my tent) in the woods.
I of course wasted no time checking out all necessary “holes” to make sure no critters were intruding on our campsite.
The accommodations were quite rustic, including this outdoor shower, but when you’re a dog – none of that really matters does it!
A few steps from camp was a stream, complete with my very own waterfall!
Dad had fun casting out the fishing rod – which was a first for me. I’ve also since discovered that I get about as worked up about fishing as my adventurous pal, Crusoe the Dachshund. Although my main goal is trying to save that little bobber (or tiny floating ball as I saw it) from “drowning”. Mom says I need to work on the idea that fishing is supposed to be a relaxing sport, not a “bark as loud as you can and frantically try to save things out of the water” sport.
Aside from fishing, Shilah and I had fun relaxing around the campsite – taking in as much outdoor time as we could!
After a full day of fun, Shilah and I were ready for some campfire food! Unfortunately all we got was kibble…..but the smells were enough to make a dog drool.
As the night rolled on Shilah and I grew tired of patrolling the campsite in our Glowdoggies, and it seemed it was time to call it a night.
I snuggled into my sleeping bag dreaming of all the critters I would hunt for the next day…
And I awoke rested and ready for my next big adventure!
Stay tuned tomorrow as I share my adventures hiking Glen Onoko Falls!
A couple weeks ago this toad came out of nowhere on the farm. He snarled and lunged right for me! I’m pretty sure he thought having a tasty bite of wiener dog for dinner would hit the spot! Don’t worry, I foiled his dinner plans….
…boy was that a close one!
Don’t worry, no toads were harmed in the making of this video. Top image via.

Way back in April my friends over at Mattie & Margot mailed me 2 spiffy new collars in one of my favorite colors, blue!
You may have caught me wearing them on some of my adventures as of lately, because I certainly got some good use out of them.
But after a couple months of wear, I decided I was ready for another spiffy new color. As luck would have it, Mattie & Margot offer a collar recycling program that can save you 40% off a new collar for your dog! Here’s how it works…
First I packed up one of my Mattie & Margot collars and shipped it off to the birthplace of new collars, California. Through my rough and tumble use the hardware on my old collar was a bit dinged up, but it was still totally functional and safe to wear, so giving it new life in a new color was just what it needed!
Once my collar reached California (and the talented hands of Rachael from Mattie & Margot) it was disassembled to be turned into something fun a new. Meanwhile I was sent a code for 40% off a new collar of my choice!
The fabric from my old collar is recycled into a fun and functional key fob, and I picked out a fun new reflective print in neon orange to be attached to my old buckles and hardware.
My recycled collar arrived in the mail looking fabulous, and I’ve been rockin’ it on the farm ever since!
Mom says she loves that the neon orange is easy to spot on the farm, especially in the tall grass.
And everyone knows that with a nose like this – I can’t be tied down to one place for very long….
And mom even got a fun gift of her own in the form of a key fob out of my old collar’s fabric…
So if you’re looking for a fun upgrade to your dog’s current collar I highly recommend checking out the Mattie & Margot Recycling Program for a savings of 40% OFF a new collar!
And if you don’t have a Mattie & Margot Collar yet, you can grab one of their many many styles for 20% off with code AMMO20

I have one main hallway at my house. It has been dubbed the hallway of fun. See below:
My new Planet Dog Squeaky Toy Tennis Ball from Chewy.com has proven to be the perfect toy for the “hallway of fun”.
And that squeak….oh boy does it drive me crazy!
I can hardly contain my excitement long enough – now hurry up and toss it down the hallway of fun before I have my way with this ball!
Do squeaky toys drive your dog crazy too?

This past Saturday was the official start of summer.
To say I’m thrilled is an understatement! I’m ready for backyard cookouts, trips to the lake, beach adventures, swimming, ice cream (the dog friendly kind), camping, and everything that comes with warm summer months.
But most of all I’m excited for summer sun bathing in my backyard!
What does your dog love most about summer?
P.S. My summer sign was cut at my mom’s frame shop – and you can order custom words and numbers from me and my mom in our online shop if you’re interested.

Now I don’t know about your house, but at my house there is no chair, sofa, couch, or bed that is off limits to me…..I’m pretty much the king of this castle if you catch my drift!
So when my new friends over at the Fun Time Dog Shop offered to send me one of their SwiPets Pet Hair Removal Gloves, mom said yes please!
Now I’m not usually a HUGE shedder (mom says thank goodness), but I do have times of the year when I leave a little more hair than normal on the furniture. So to test out the Swipet Glove mom decided to give me a good brushing on the sunroom ottoman.
As you can see I left a fair amount of hair behind.
Using the glove, mom was able to brush my hair into a nice little pile for easy clean-up.
The SwiPets™ glove has a special coating and texture on the palm that creates an electro-static charge, while ‘grabbing’ the pet hair and clumping it so you can simply pull it off and throw it away.
The SwiPets Glove Removes pet hair from furniture, clothes, pet bedding and hard-to-reach areas like cushions, stairs & carpeting. The special coating on the fingertips means you can get into tight spots and pull pet hair from cracks and crevices where it collects over time. And as a bonus it’s machine washable, so you can use it over and over again!
Mom says she just needs to teach me how to use it myself and life would be grand!
I’m just thrilled I won’t be kicked off the furniture anytime soon, especially since it’s so easy for mom to clean up my hair now.
You can pick up your own SwiPets Pet Hair Removal Glove from the Fun Time Dog Shop starting at $10.
Now something that makes the Fun Time Dog Shop a little different from any other online retailer is that they DONATE ALL OF THEIR AFTER COSTS PROFITS TO ANIMAL RESCUE. So if you are looking for any pet products (leashes, collars, treats, and much more!) I highly recommend you check them out. You’ll be getting something fun for your pup and helping rescue dogs at the same time!
And now for the best part….

This time of year I spend a lot of time hanging around the family farm. While mom does chores and rides ponies I hang out with my gal pals, Cricket and Spider.
Lately though our time together seems to get interrupted by the barn swallows that have made their home in the barn.
Swooping, diving, and yelling at us – those birds are relentless in making sure we know that our presence near their nests are unwelcome. Honestly, I can’t say I blame them – Spider, Cricket, and I are fierce hunters – and I may have inadvertently purposely helped Spider take down a few birds out of the air. In my defense, they do like to scream at us a lot!
I’ll be looking over my shoulder from now on when I’m on the farm. Does your dog like to chase birds too?
