4th of July Fun

Fourth of July with Ammo the Dachshund

Oh glorious Fourth of July – a celebration of my country that also brings cookouts, trips to the park, and a romp in the brandywine river, what’s not to love?

Fourth of July with Ammo the Dachshund

I dressed in some festive Fourth of July colors and headed down to a local park for the yearly Downingtown Good Neighbor Day Celebration.

After meeting and greeting with all my “neighbors”, I was ready for something sweet.

Fourth of July with Ammo the Dachshund

Dad picked us up from soda from the Freaky Dog Soda shop (although all I got was water to wet my whistle) and then we headed to the Brandywine to get our feet wet.

Ah, nothing like a refreshing dip in the river to cool you off on a hot day! How did you celebrate this 4th of July? Ammo the Dachshund

Friday Fetch: iFetch Ball Launcher for Dogs

I’m no labrador retriever, but I do enjoy the occasional game of fetch. So when I came across this fun new kickstarter project for the iFetch I figured I had to share it with all of you.

Designed by a Grandfather and Grandson team, the iFetch is an interactive ball launcher that automatically launches a small tennis ball between 10 and 30 feet. Some dogs can even be taught to play fetch by themselves. How cool!

Adventure Awaits

Adventure Awaits // Ammo the Dachshund

Every once in a rare while I get to spend the day at home just relaxing.

Adventure Awaits // Ammo the Dachshund

Dog stereotypes would state that I should relish in the fact that I get to nap all day long, but for me that’s just way too boring.

Adventure Awaits // Ammo the Dachshund

How can you relax when there are adventures to be had; there’s groundhogs to hunt, agility courses to run, people to wag your tail at, and cookies to eat!

Adventure Awaits // Ammo the Dachshund

Although thinking about all those adventures is making me a little sleepy.

Adventure Awaits // Ammo the Dachshund

Yawn! I guess those adventures will still be there tomorrow…

Adventure Awaits // Ammo the Dachshund

I think I’ll just rest my eyes a bit. Don’t worry though, because adventure always awaits just around the corner! Ammo the Dachshund

My Personal Puddle

My Personal Puddle // Ammo the Dachshund

It’s been raining in Pennsylvania A LOT, like as in thunderstorms most nights and sometimes all day long. But it’s also been hot hot hot. So while I hate that the rain sometimes puts a damper on my plans, I’m loving that it’s created a personal puddle on the farm just for me to cool off in.

My Personal Puddle // Ammo the Dachshund

It may not be crystal clear waters, but it’s the perfect place to cool off, and maybe fetch a few sticks in too.

With just a couple more inches of rain I’d have to slap on my life vest and call it my own personal swimming puddle.

If anyone needs me I’ll be dipping my paws into my personal puddle, and dreaming I’m at the beach chasing crabs out to sea! Keep cool friends! Ammo the Dachshund

Product Review: Fromm Treats from Chewy.com

Disclaimer: This review is brought to you by Chewy.

Lately I’ve been reviewing my fair share of pet treats, and I started to wonder if the Universe was trying to tell me something like, “Eat your heart out Ammo!”. But then I received this package of Low Fat dog treats made by Fromm from my pals at Chewy.com, and I realized the Universe was instead saying “Eat your heart out Ammo, but make sure it’s low fat so you don’t get fat!” Good idea Universe.
