12 Days of Cheer! DIY Pet Snowglobe

It may not be snowing in Pennsylvania just yet, but that won’t stop me from creating my own magical winter wonderland this Christmas!

Today we’re making magical DIY Pet Snowglobes!

DIY Pet Snowglobes

Materials:

12 Days of Cheer! DIY Pet Snowglobe via Ammo the Dachshund

Step 1: Mold your sculpy into a “snow mound” that will fit inside the lid of the jar. Make sure sure that it can fit inside the jar lid with the jar on top.

Step 2: Bake your sculpy in the oven at the temperature and time specified on the package. Allow to cool.

Step 3: Using a hot glue gun attach the “snow mound” to the lid of your jar. Then glue the dog figurine on top of it.

Step 4: Add glitter to your jar.

Step 5: Add water to your jar, making sure you don’t overfill it.

Step 6: Screw the lid onto the jar, shake, and enjoy!

Friday Fetch: Billy Wolf Fine K-9 Coats

November is officially here, and in Pennsylvania that means that I will be wearing my coats most of the time while outdoors now. I’m always on the lookout for stylish coats, so when I came across the Billy Wolf Fine K-9 Coatery I knew I had found a winner.

After several failed attempts to find her dog a tasteful coat, fashion designer Lyndsey Drago took to her sewing machine and tailor made her Chihuahua Cujo a tartan plaid coat from an old jacket that had grown too weary for wear. With Cujo sporting his new coat, Lyndsey was stopped block after block on their daily walks by strangers complimenting his coat and requesting one of their own for their pooches. It’s that time of year again where I get to break out my fall and winter wardrobe – as it’s been getting a bit cooler now.

I tend to wear my jackets a lot more when I’m on the farm – gotta keep warm and toasty when hunting for groundhogs.

Smelling the Flowers

Lately I’ve been coming in from the back yard looking like I was in a snow storm – covered in a dusting of white.

But not to worry, it still really is Spring here in Pennsylvania – and the reason for my snow storm-ish look lately – the glorious flowers are blooming!

In particular my peach tree in the back yard is blooming!

Now normally I’m not really a “pink” kind of guy, but I have to admit – the flowers are very pretty.

And not only do they look glorious, but they smell pretty good too.

Although, (to be fair) you probably shouldn’t take my word for it – considering I do like to munch on horse poop on occasion.

As much as I do enjoy a good old fashioned snow storm, my spring time “flower petal snow storms” are quite enjoyable too. And it just reminds me of how important it is to stop and smell the flowers on a daily basis, even if they don’t smell quite as delicious as horse manure.

Guess what! I won’t be having to build any Super Forts in my basement anytime soon….because I’m traveling along with Painting Pony, Minnow, for our big trip to the PA Horse World Expo in Harrisburg, PA.

I’ve been helping mom pack the horse trailer all week – with what seems like the entire contents of Minnow’s bedroom. How many bags of cardboard bedding does he really need anyway?

I’m pretty sure we have everything for our trip….

…and perhaps a few stowaways too! (wouldn’t be the first time).

Tree Trimmer

Over the weekend it was “Apple Tree Trimming Time” at my house. Never being one to sit out of activities, I made sure to help Dad with the trimming.

Burn Pile

Lately the burn pile on the farm has been getting bigger and bigger.

Mom says it’s in preparation for Trooper’s new house on the farm, and knocking down some trees is necessary to make room.

I’m not sure when the detonation of the burn pile will take place, but I figure one can never be too careful when it comes to fire safety. So I’ve been practicing what to do when the pile goes up in flames.
